Artezin founding winemaker Randle Johnson has always been enamored with the Mendocino appellation and the hearty families that have farmed this rugged region for generations.
He spent years building and developing relationships with local growers, and as a result, he has access to the highest quality grapes grown by this collection of family farmers. The vines are old, head-pruned, non-irrigated and they produce some of the best Zinfandel fruit in California. Today Randle handcrafts Artezin wines in recognition of the graceful richness inherent in Zinfandel grapes.
